Gerbie “Ger” Reyes’ 2001 Honda S2000 was selected as the winner of the 2020 virtual Builder Challenge powered by CTEK

CTEK will showcase the new PRO25S 25-amp battery charger during the virtual SEMA 360 event. The new PRO25S is an innovative, versatile, and highly efficient battery charger and power supply for the professional workshop or for those who want to charge like the pros.

Builder John Wargo, of The Custom Shop, likes “wild and outlandish stuff” and his 1967 Chevrolet Nova demonstrates that. “I want people to know I’m coming - that’s just my style,” he said. “I always try to come up with different and unique modifications that people haven’t seen before.” The paint scheme gives the car a wow factor. “I like to do a lot of dimensions, and there are hidden graphics within the graphics,” he said.

The 1969 Dodge Charger build created by Tony Arme and American Legends is a car designed to be driven. “It’s a high-performance vehicle that drives like a newer car, but has the look and aesthetic of a ‘69 Charger,” said Arme. “It looks fairly stock, but it’s a high-end restoration with a lot of upgrades.”

An Army veteran, Carlos Molina is the founder of Projekt Cars in El Paso, Texas. Projekt Cars has built more than 300 cars for SEMA. He has three builds in the Builder Challenge powered by CTEK.

A 1991 Porsche Baja 911 paying homage to desert racing and a 1933 Plymouth once appearing on the silver screen may seem an unlikely duo, but they both have one thing in common - builder TJ Russell of Russell Built Fabrication.

Builder Jason Ludwin of Rodz By Ludwin was drawn to the Art Deco lines of his 1936 Ford Sedan. The classic sedan is being reimagined as an overland-style off-the-grid vehicle. “I’m taking a 1930s car and making it look like it’s supposed to be a 4-wheel drive vehicle,” said Ludwin. “It’s an older vehicle completely wrapped in new technology.”

Builder Gerbie “Ger” Reyes said his 2001 Honda S2000 was inspired by fighter jets. It’s a one-of-a-kind custom build that turns heads wherever it goes. “It’s boosted with a crazy supercharger, and people can hear the whistling. It almost sounds like a fighter jet,” said Reyes, who added he emphasized quality and detail in his build. “A lot of people say it’s one of the cleanest S2000 builds they’ve ever seen.”

Six of the nation’s most talented auto builders will put their skills, mechanical know-how, and incredible designs to the test in the 2020 Builder Challenge powered by CTEK. Members of the public will be able to vote online for their favorite build.
