2022 SEMA Builder #1 Ricardo Lopez
We had a conversation with the CTEK builders that are going to attend the SEMA show, these are their thoughts and ideas about SEMA and CTEK. First out is Ricardo Lopez.
Ricardo Lopez
Ricardo Lopez is a third-generation builder based in Compton, California. He was inspired by his own family in Mexico when he created his shop called Customs by Lopez. He will be in exhibitor booth 11 111 in the SEMA Show with two of his trucks, a 1956 Chevy Truck Step Side and a 1958 corvette. He has made more than 110 modifications to his trucks including a custom tail gate.
1956 Chevy Truck Step Side:
The Chevy is powered by a tried-and-true 350ci small block Chevy V8 engine, which is combined with a 700R4 transmission to keep RPM’s down on the highway. Making this engine run smooth is a FiTech Ultra Ram EFI unit and set of Hedman Hedders connected to a custom Magnaflow exhaust system. The powertrain was painted and given a treatment of Billet Specialties valve covers and an Eddie Motorsports accessory drive system. The 1958 Corvette is still under construction for the SEMA Show.

He was asked why he wanted to be a CTEK builder, “Our good friends Ken Johnson and Brian Dowdy made us aware of how important quality chargers are for us and our customers! We’d love to be a part of the family!”.
